A group of Kyrgyz Parliament members and officials from the Government Office visited Madrid, Spain, for a study tour to learn about public policies of Spain in the field of drug abuse and HIV and harm reduction programs
The trip was organized by the UNDP HIV Programme jointly with UNAIDS and WHO.

UNDP HIV Programme in cooperation with UNAIDS and UNFPA organized a study tour to Bishkek for representatives of Batken, Jalal-Abad and Osh oblast AIDS centres
Participants of the tour visited key stakeholders from the governmental and nongovernmental organizations. They also participated at the Country Multisectoral Coordinating Committee meeting.

Representatives of Osh oblast administration, regional AIDS center, security forces department, NGOs from Bishkek and Osh discussed results of the research.

Parliamentarians learned about the instruments and approaches used to analyze adherence of the legislation on HIV, gender and drug use to international legal standards during the February 16 seminar
Comprehensive legislative analysis is necessary to maintain commitment of the Kyrgyz Republic to international rule of law and keep institutional memory in the sphere of the national response to AIDS pandemic.
